Bespoke acoustic solutions for the lecture hall at the new IRCCS Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio Hospital (Milan, Italy)

Caruso Acoustic recently carried out a major acoustic correction project at the lecture hall of the new IRCCS Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio Hospital in Milan; a structure built by GKSD and designed by Binini Partners for the San Donato Group, a leading private healthcare company.

The installation of customised sound-absorbing solutions, specifically designed to improve the hall’s acoustic comfort, was part of a larger turnkey project in which LAMM acted as general contractor. L213 armchairs, the tribune and the speaker stand were supplied, whilst the furnishings were completed with sound-absorbing wall panels, custom-made in two different versions. For the upper part of the hall, Caruso Acoustic supplied fabric-stretched panels, while for the lower part, wooden panels with mineral fibre interiors were chosen for both versions, thus meeting the room’s specific requirements, from an aesthetic, functional and acoustic performance point of view.

The acoustic correction project of the lecture hall at Milan’s IRCCS Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio Hospital is an important example of Caruso Acoustic’s ability to provide customised sound-absorbing solutions to meet the needs of each space according to its intended use. The design approach, i.e. the choice of custom formats and materials, allowed for better acoustic comfort within the space, with the aim of improving user experience and enhancing both its functionality and versatility.
