Caruso Acoustic recently completed an acoustic-correction project at the Milan headquarters of SAES Getters S.p.A.—a multinational group that develops advanced materials—in collaboration with the OpenSpace studio in Varese.
The main aim of the work was to improve the acoustic comfort of the lobby, where the large reception, waiting and meeting spaces are often used at the same time for various activities, generating higher levels of noise typical of high-traffic environments with a continuous flow of people.
For this renovation project, aimed at improving the quality of the acoustics in various areas, Caruso Acoustic supplied and installed Dot ceiling-suspended, sound-absorbing panels in both standard and custom sizes. Thanks to their exceptional sound absorption, the Dot panels reduced reverberation times in the rooms, creating a setting well-suited to the various intended uses. Chosen in red and grey—in keeping with the company’s image—and installed at different heights, they also created a sequence of contrasts against the dark background of the ceiling, while matching the colours of the existing furnishings, resulting in a distinctive and original visual effect.
This project demonstrates Caruso Acoustic’s ability to combine functionality and visual style, offering custom acoustic solutions that satisfy various design requirements. The decision to install Dot sound-absorbing panels resulted in a quieter and more comfortable working environment, which helped improve the well-being of all users.
