Comfortable surroundings: the synergy between acoustics and lighting

Caruso Magazine Illuminazione integrata ai pannelli cop 02

How comfortable we feel in a given environment depends on many factors. Acoustics play a key role, as does the furniture and, last but not least, lighting is key too. However, different settings require different lighting, based on their intended use and the activities that take place there. In workplaces, for example, good lighting can help maintain high levels of concentration, while in a waiting room, more subdued lighting can help individuals feel more relaxed when waiting, even for extended periods.

Lighting solutions and visual comfort

In order to ensure sufficient visual comfort indoors, it is essential to find the right balance between sunlight and artificial light. As mentioned in previous examples, visual comfort does not necessarily imply providing as much light as possible in indoor areas, but rather optimising existing lighting, limiting or increasing the amount of light and directing it properly. Any solution must therefore be tailored to the specific needs of each setting and its context. With this in mind, Caruso Acoustic has designed and created a range of sound-absorbing products capable of exploiting the synergy between acoustics and lighting.

Sound-absorbing panels with LED lighting

Integrating LED lighting systems into acoustic panels is one of the key features of Caruso Acoustic’s manufacturing expertise. LED lighting components can be integrated into different acoustic panels, with multiple sizes, different wattages and lighting capacities available, helping to improve the habitability of a given setting. In addition, LED lighting offers multiple advantages, including reduced energy consumption, longer lifespan than classic lights, greater resistance to shock and humidity and, above all, adjustable intensity of light. A wide range of acoustic solutions with integrated LED lighting to suit specific project requirements.
