Caruso Acoustic recently completed an acoustic correction project at the headquarters of the Interregional Agency for the Po River (AIPo) in Parma.
Established in 2003, AIPo manages the main hydrographic network of Italy’s largest river basin and is primarily concerned with hydraulic safety, public water management, and river navigation.
The intervention involved the main meeting room, a space designed for institutional meetings and discussions, where reverberation time and speech intelligibility are essential to ensure effective communication.
To meet these needs, Silente sound-absorbing panels were installed on both the ceiling and the walls. The suspended ceiling panels, equipped with integrated LED ceiling lights (4000K), combine acoustic and lighting performance in one solution. To ensure maximum visual comfort and compliance with the UNI EN 12464-1 standard on workplace lighting, the lights have a glare index (UGR) below 19. This improves acoustic comfort while also providing uniform and comfortable illumination.
Customised Silente panels were also installed on the walls, featuring photographic prints of river landscapes, hydraulic infrastructure, and natural views. These features combine technical performance with aesthetic appeal, creating an environment aligned with the Agency’s visual identity and reflective of the region it protects.
The choice of colours for the panel coatings helps define the visual balance of the space: the deep blue of the ceiling panels recalls the colour of water and the AIPo logo, while the neutral tones of the wall panels maintain a refined and elegant atmosphere. The result is a functional and harmonious room, where acoustics, light, and design interact naturally.
With this intervention, Caruso Acoustic confirms its ability to develop customised solutions that integrate aesthetics and performance, enhancing the quality of collective and professional environments.
