Caruso Acoustic recently completed an acoustic enhancement project at the IBSA headquarters in Lugano. This was part of the architectural design for the new offices within the Pina Centre complex, located in the CorPharma district. The new space concept, designed by architect Corrado Tagliabue of Laboratorioarch in collaboration with Christophe Almeida Direito, Sr ESG & Real Estate Manager of IBSA, aims to create modern and functional working environments while ensuring high acoustic comfort for the well-being of staff.
The design of the offices is characterised by a minimalist and modern style, with large windows and a lamellar ceiling, which required the use of adjustable suspended acoustic solutions to blend these components smoothly into the environment.
The project involved the installation of different types of sound-absorbing panels, each designed to meet the specific acoustic requirements of the different rooms. These include Dot panels, placed above workstations and in relaxation areas, and Flag baffles, installed in corridors to reduce reverberation in transit areas. A further contribution to acoustic well-being was made by the Silente and Nuvola models, whose versatility allowed for creative configurations adaptable to any architectural setting. The sound-absorbing panels were chosen in various colour tones, creating a dynamic contrast to the furniture and animating the office environment. The result is a harmonious environment in which acoustic comfort blends with modern, refined design.
This intervention once again underlines Caruso Acoustic’s ability to develop tailor-made solutions that combine acoustic functionality and attention to design.
