Silente sound absorbing customised panels for the Fondazione Accademia dei Giorni Straordinari (Parma, Italy)

Caruso Acoustic recently completed the installation and supply of Silente sound-absorbing panels with customised printing at the Fondazione Accademia dei Giorni Straordinari in Parma, a place designed to support and accommodate minors in fragile situations. This intervention is part of a larger architectural project by Enrico Molteni Architecture, which has resulted in a modern, state-of-the-art building inaugurated in October 2023.

Located in the heart of the Science and Technology Campus of the University of Parma, the Foundation’s premises are designed to offer a familiar and welcoming atmosphere for all the young people attending it. The interior spaces are bright and built with sustainable materials, reflecting a simple but carefully thought-out design that aims to promote well-being and socialisation.

Silente sound absorbing panels, installed on the walls of places dedicated to meeting and sharing, serve a dual purpose. On the one hand, they improve the acoustic comfort of the rooms by reducing reverberation; on the other, they visually enrich each space with customised prints depicting the intended use of each room: young students reading in the meeting room, illustrations of food and drink in the canteen and scenes of sporting activities in the gymnasium.

The juxtaposition of the blue background of the panels and the bright colours of the illustrations creates a pleasant, dynamic and engaging effect that lends personality and character to the rooms. This intervention is therefore not limited to improving acoustic performance alone, but contributes to making the spaces more welcoming and in line with the spirit and identity of the Foundation.

This project reconfirms Caruso Acoustic’s ability to offer acoustic solutions that combine aesthetics and functionality, enhancing the daily experience of those who live and animate these places.
