Caruso Acoustic for Ristorante Geromìno (Dairago, Milan, Italy)

Caruso Acoustic’s Dot sound absorbing panels were installed at the Geromìno Restaurant in Dairago in the province of Milan. The style of the restaurant is reminiscent of the typical New York diners of the 1960s, providing an informal and welcoming setting.

Entering into the restaurant, you’ll find an elegant counter overlooking the spacious dining room, which features large windows, glossy white tiled floors and contrasting black decorations. From an acoustic point of view, the lack of partitions in a room means that sounds and noises generated by the service and bar area overlap with the conversations of customers, contributing to an increase in reverberation times and therefore in perceived background noise. The aim of the project was to distribute the sound absorbing material evenly over the entire surface of the room. The designers opted for the insertion of suspended Dot acoustic panels by means of adjustable cables. The special fixing system made it possible to place the panels at an optimal distance from the ceiling so that the sound waves were effectively intercepted at the level of tables and bar counter.

Aesthetically, the round lines of the Dot panels blend harmoniously with the geometry of the rest of the furniture, giving a playful yet elegant appearance to the room. Furthermore, the selected monochromatic upholstery fabric made it possible to integrate sound absorbing products while preserving the formal balance of the room.
