The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan has entrusted Progetto CMR with the important renovation project of the Gemelli Lecture Hall located in the Monumental Building in Largo A. Gemelli in Milan, for which LAMM furniture and Caruso Acoustic accessories were chosen and installed.
The acoustic correction project, which is part of LAMM’s larger supply of E5000 – Orlandini Design study desks and On Time – Baldanzi & Novelli armchairs, included the installation of 22 custom sound-absorbing panels, positioned in the last row of the central sector of the lecture hall.
In addition to improving the acoustics of the space, the designers’ aim was to allow the room to be divided into two distinct areas – stalls and tiered seating – according to the needs and uses required by the academic programme. The customisation of the format and the targeted study of the accessories allow easy assembly or disassembly of the panelling, by means of a system of plates and pins designed ad hoc for simple positioning in the appropriate slots and to maintain a perfect linearity of the partitions even in height. A solution that guarantees maximum flexibility of application and integration with the lecture hall’s architecture, enhancing its elegance and functionality to offer users an optimal user experience.
The “tailor-made” approach adopted by Caruso Acoustic in this project confirms the brand’s ability to develop targeted solutions that combine acoustic performance, versatility and care for aesthetics.
