Improving acoustic comfort in a bank office: a tailor-made solution

In the banking environment, acoustics play a crucial role in enhancing the experience of all users and guaranteeing the necessary levels of privacy and concentration required in such a setting. This case study presents an acoustic correction project carried out in the branch of a bank consisting of a multi-functional open space with a reception and waiting room area, a teller line and 4 offices.

With average reverberation times of 2.15 seconds, reverb levels in the approximately 174 m3 main hall were excessive, compromising communication and privacy. The offices, about 32 m3 each, also displayed high levels of reverb (1.56 s), insufficient to guarantee the necessary acoustic comfort for work.

To solve these problems, both fixed and free-standing Caruso Acoustic sound-absorbing solutions were installed. In the open space, 12 ceiling-hung Silente panels and 4 free-standing D-Space partition panels were installed, reducing the average reverberation level to 0.68 s. Meanwhile, a fixed hanging Silente panel was installed in every office together with an easily repositionable Menhir totem. Again, an optimal reverberation time of 0.62 s was achieved.

The versatility of the free-standing solutions combined with the effectiveness of the hanging solutions makes it possible to create acoustically comfortable environments that can be adapted to changing layout requirements. Thanks to its custom-designed solutions, Caruso Acoustic is able to guarantee the necessary acoustic comfort for customers and employees in the workspaces.
