The Nuvola panels by Caruso Acoustic for the Innovation Center of Casalasco Spa (Parma, Italy)

Caruso Acoustic was commissioned to optimize the acoustics of two strategic areas—the auditorium and the tasting room—within the Innovation Center of Casalasco Spa, Italy’s leading consortium and one of Europe’s main players in the cultivation, processing, and marketing of tomatoes.

The acoustic correction project, which is part of the broader LAMM supply of L213 armchairs and the fixed underlying platform, involved the installation of Nuvola sound-absorbing panels suspended from the ceiling, with integrated in-line LED lighting in both environments.

Nuvola, a modular cluster of sound-absorbing panels suspended by steel cables, allows for combinations in various formats and the creation of perfectly coplanar “clouds”: a flexible system that makes acoustic treatment effective while simplifying installation and maintenance. The integrated LED lighting serves a dual function: it contributes to acoustic comfort and guarantees homogeneous, diffused light, avoiding the need for additional light fixtures.

From an aesthetic point of view, the warm, natural colours of the panels’ covering fabric interact with the wooden cladding of the auditorium walls and the LAMM seating, enhancing the architecture.

The result is a lively yet orderly environment, where sound quality, light distribution, and the aesthetics of the space converge to create a professional, representative, and comfortable setting.
